18 He is also the head [the life-source and leader] of the body, the [a]church; and He is the beginning,
[b]the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will occupy the first place
[He will stand supreme and be preeminent] in everything.
15 But speaking the truth in love [in all things—both our speech and our lives expressing His truth],
let us grow up in all things into Him [following His example] who is the Head—Christ.
16 From Him the whole body [the church, in all its various parts], joined and knitted firmly together
by what every joint supplies, when each part is working properly, causes the body to grow and mature,
building itself up [a]in [unselfish] love.
23 I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected and completed into one,
so that the world may know [without any doubt] that You sent Me, and [that You] have loved them, just as You have loved Me.
1 John 1:5-7 Amplified Bible (AMP)
5 This is the message [of God’s promised revelation] which we have heard from Him and now announce to you, that God is Light [He is holy, His message is truthful, He is perfect in righteousness], and in Him there is no darkness at all [no sin, no wickedness, no imperfection].
6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness [of sin], we lie and do not practice the truth;
7 but if we [really] walk in the Light [that is, live each and every day in conformity with the precepts of God],
as He Himself is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another
[He with us, and we with Him], and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin
[by erasing the stain of sin, keeping us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations].
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
5 Examine and test and evaluat
and showing the proper fruits of it. Test and prove yourselves
Do you not yourselves realize and know [thoroughly by an ever-increasing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you—unless you are [counterfeits] disapproved on trial and rejected?
3 For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
2 Those who think they know something do not yet know anything as they should.
26 He said to him, “What is written in the law? What do you read there?”
27 He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul,
and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
28 And he said to him, “You have given the right answer; do this, and you will live.”
