22 But the fruit that the Spirit produces in a person’s life is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these kinds of things.
13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful [true to His word and His righteous character], for He cannot deny Himself.
6 For the Lord disciplines and corrects those whom He loves,
And He punishes every son whom He receives and welcomes [to His heart].”
19 Those whom I [dearly and tenderly] love, I rebuke and discipline [showing them their faults and instructing them];
so be enthusiastic and repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, your sinful behavior—seek God’s will].
5 Examine and test and evaluate your own selves to see whether you are holding to your faith
and showing the proper fruits of it. Test and prove yourselves
Do you not yourselves realize and know [thoroughly by an ever-increasing experience]
that Jesus Christ is in you—unless you are [counterfeits] disapproved on trial and rejected?
2 Those who think they know something do not yet know anything as they should.
