7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain [that is, irreverently,
in false affirmations or in ways that impugn the character of God];
for the Lord will not hold guiltless nor leave unpunished the one
who [a]takes His name in vain [disregarding its reverence and its power].
26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name,
He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
12 For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective].
It is sharper than any two-edged [a]sword, penetrating as far as the division of the [b]soul and spirit [the completeness of a person],
and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing
and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.
12 Indeed, the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul from spirit, joints from marrow;
it is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Matthew 6:10 New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (NRSVCE)
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
6 But he gives all the more grace; therefore it says,
“God opposes the proud,
but gives grace to the humble.”
5 Examine and test and
and showing the proper fruits of it. Test and prove yourselves
Do you not yourselves realize and know [thoroughly by an ever-increasing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you—unless you are [counterfeits] disapproved on trial and rejected?
2 Those who think they know something do not yet know anything as they should.
26 He said to him, “What is written in the law? What do you read there?”
27 He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul,
and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
28 And he said to him, “You have given the right answer; do this, and you will live.”
