Giving to the Poor and Prayer
1 “Be [very] careful not to do your [a]good deeds publicly,
to be seen by men; otherwise you will have no reward
[prepared and awaiting you] with your Father who is in heaven.

2 “So whenever you give to the poor and do acts of kindness,
do not blow a trumpet before you [to advertise it],
as the hypocrites do [like actors acting out a role] in the synagogues
and in the streets, so that they may be honored and
recognized and praised by men. I assure you and
most solemnly say to you, they [already] have their reward in full.

3 But when you give to the poor and do acts of kindness,
do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing
[give in complete secrecy],

4 so that your charitable acts will be done in secret;
and your Father who sees [what is done] in secret will reward you.

5 “Also, when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites;
for they love to pray [publicly] standing in the synagogues
and on the corners of the streets so that they may be seen by men.
I assure you and most solemnly say to you,
they [already] have their reward in full.

6 But when you pray, go into your most private room,
close the door and pray to your Father who is in secret,
and your Father who sees [what is done] in secret will reward you.

7 “And when you pray, do not use meaningless repetition
as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard
because of their many words.

8 So do not be like them [praying as they do];
for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.

9 “Pray, then, [b]in this way:

00:02 Brothers and sisters, yesterday we did giving to the poor and to give in secret, not like the Gentiles do, and not with selfish motives and all that. Brothers and sisters, today we are talking about praying and fasting in secret. Father, God wants
us to do it secret.

00:31 Now let’s read that. That is from verse 5 Matthew 26, Matthew 6, Matthew 6, 5. Also, when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites.

00:47 For they pray not just the Gentiles, not just unbelievers. Do not be like the hypocrites. So there are hypocrites within the church or within the children of God.

00:59 Do not also, when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray publicly standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets so that they may be seen by men. I assure you and most solemnly say to you, they already have
their reward in full. When you pray, go into your most private room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is in secret.

01:24 And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you, will reward you. And when you pray, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be hurt because of their many words. So do not be like them,
praying as they do.

01:42 For your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Brothers and sisters, this is a fantastic statement. It is a very important statement because many people don’t know, and they do this, and some people actually practice this hypocritical
thing.

01:59 They begin to pray. I’ll pray for you, brother. I’ll pray for you.

02:01 I prayed for you, sister. I prayed for you. You lose your reward.

02:06 Don’t go around telling people that you prayed for somebody, because why are you telling people you prayed for somebody now? Why are you telling somebody? Our heart, our heart, our problem is our desperately wicked, righteously wicked heart. Our
heart wants recognition. That’s why I prayed for you, brother.

02:27 Don’t worry, brother, you’ve done this. You’re going through this. I prayed for you.

02:31 We prayed for you. Is that necessary? Not necessary. If you pray, keep quiet now.

02:39 Unless in genuinity, in sincerity, you know, you need to encourage this person and say, then you see a group, don’t take yourself. I prayed for you. The church is praying for you, brother.

02:53 The church is praying for you, sister. That means you put a group so that you dilute your own importance. You dilute your own importance.

03:05 Why? We do not want you to lose your reward here. We don’t want you to lose your reward here. Because Jesus Christ says, then you pray like hypocrite.

03:13 You stand in the street corners and pray. And then you go and tell people you prayed and all that you already got your reward. Your reward is right.

03:21 Somebody says, thank you, isn’t it? Or somebody says, oh, they’re praying for me. Put a group, forget about yourself. Thereby the whole thing in Christ is denying ourselves and picking the cross, picking up our cross, denying ourselves.

03:35 Do not put our because our heart like this. It wants to be very important. And that is a demonic thing.

03:42 The devil is always talking to our heart. Our heart to become more and more and more important. We are more and more nothing.

03:51 The most lowest of us all here will be the highest in heaven. So look at this again. Look at this again.

03:59 So when you need to pray, somebody say, please pray for me. You see? Yes, thank Jesus Christ. But brother sister will teach you to pray even.

04:08 Why Jesus wants you to pray. He is your father. He wants you to pray.

04:11 He wants you to come to him. Don’t you think that is normal? As I repeatedly say that if a person has got few children, doesn’t he want you children to come talk to him? Not just one child, representing the whole lot. This is what parliament is.

04:29 One person is a congressman. And everybody all sit quiet. And the congressman comes reports or the parliamentarian comes a report.

04:37 Member of Parliament. No, he wants a relationship. If your father means he wants you to talk to him.

04:44 And now this question of secret room business. Now, most private room. Most private room.

04:49 Of course, it can be anywhere. Let us say you are among people. Most private room will be in your heart.

04:54 You can pray in your heart. Whatever you ask or think more than that will be done unto you. Which is according to his word.

04:56 Whatever you ask or think, think whatever you ask or think in line with his word. More than that he’ll blunt for you because he’s saying what? The Father knows what you need before you ask him. He knows.

05:14 Now your Father knows what you need before you ask him, but then he give it to you. Now that is why there’s another verse which says, if your earthly father, if your earthly fathers were wicked, he says, if their son asks for fish, will you give
them a snake? If the earthly father gives you, if you ask the earthly Father and he says earthly fathers are wicked, if you ask the earthly father for bread, will he give a stone? No. Here.

05:44 How Much more. Your heavenly Father, who is holy, who is perfect, knows your need before you ask him, it will be done. This the faith we must come to, the faith we must come to is this.

05:54 Now the other thing is they call for corporate place. Now, this one is a meaningless repetition. Repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat.

06:02 Every religion does this. They have beads. All religions have beads.

06:07 In Jesus Christ there are no beads. There are no beads. Otherwise they’ll keep on hanging on to the beads for strength, for faith.

06:15 Your faith. You will not know. Without you realizing, your heart and mind will be drawn into the beads.

06:22 Jesus Christ says, I am Spirit, God is spirit. Worship me in spirit and in truth. But what happens if you keep on doing the beast business? And beads after beads after beast, your heart and mind unwittingly, unknowingly, undiscerningly will begin to
go.

06:38 Faith in beasts. So much so people hang these beasts in the cars. All religious, I’m talking about, they hang in the beast, in their cars.

06:44 And all because the things are beastful. Protect them. Pity.

06:48 But that is how they’ve been duped or they’ve been taught or misunderstood or whatever. Those of you listening today, worship me. Heaven, Spirit and end Truth.

06:59 When you command the demon to go in the name of Jesus Christ, he will go. Now. Spirit of accident, if you are concerned of accident, spirit of accident, I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to get out in the name of Jesus Christ.

07:10 And not to return. But at the same time, do not give the devil a foothold. Do not give the devil a foothold.

07:16 How do we give the devil a foothold? By allowing to follow the temptation. How does temptation come when we are drawn by our own heart desire? Temptation comes. When temptation is full blown, sin comes.

07:29 When sin is full blown blown, death comes. This is very clear. It’s very clear in James.

07:34 So how does temptation come? Temptation comes like that. We know how temptation comes. The devil talks to your heart.

07:41 But then the devil can only talk to your heart. When your heart is drawn by your own heart desire. It’s not.

07:47 Some translation will say, by your own heart’s evil desire. It’s not true. By your own heart desire, the devil will come talk to you.

07:55 Therefore we want God’s desire in our hearts. How does your own heart desire can end up in this? Let us say you’re looking for I must do medicine. I must do medicine.

08:07 I don’t have money. I must do medicine, my son. Must do medicine, must do medicine, must do medicine, must do.

08:13 And you don’t even have $20,000. This whole thing costs a few hundred thousand dollars. And the child couldn’t get a scholarship because some points are missing or some conditions in the country or whatever the economy couldn’t get.

08:25 But I must do, I must do. And then before you know it, you end up going, borrowing, borrowing, boring. You end up being sometimes end up stealing, end up borrowing and not able to pay, don’t pay all these things together.

08:37 And the sun finally may or may not even complete. Actually, that is why you need God’s desire. Now I must have a house, I must have rent a car.

08:46 And then a bank clerk. Finally he may do something with a check. Or you are in a company working for.

08:52 And you may do something with a petty cash or something because drawn by your own desire. What is so evil about wanting to do a big degree or wanting to have a house. But you become an obsession, you know, you say, Lord, I’ll be content with food
and clothing.

09:10 Jesus Christ commands us to be content with food and clothing. Like that, content. But he says contentment with godliness, great gain, step by step.

09:20 Can you imagine? Your health will be good, things will come to you. He will take care of you in contentment, you’ll grow. I’ve seen this for many, many, many people at the same time.

09:31 Many don’t follow. But the road is narrow. Road is narrow.

09:35 And difficult is the way brothers and sisters today remember this me in English. Repetition, repeat, repeat. Why he says that for the Gentiles, for the unbelievers think they will be hurt because of their many words, God.

09:48 You think God cannot hear. But if you’re not born of the Spirit, you cannot know in your spirit, you will not know in your spirit that father God actually hears your prayer. That Jesus Christ actually hears a prayer.

09:59 So you pray blindly. You pray wanting something you want volition, really you want. But unless you’re born of the Spirit, you will not know inside you that your prayer actually connecting with God.

10:11 You will not know. Some hazy thing will happen and you will begin to go for it. Go for it, go for it.

10:18 Repeat and repeat and repeat. But if you know, even one single line of prayer would be enough, even what you think will be enough. Because you say, I accept all Jesus Christ because your will for me is the best.

10:30 The other thing, people can’t accept what Jesus Christ is saying. Why they do not know or do not believe in their heart that Jesus Christ will do the best for you. Best, best for you.

10:42 And then right now they have thought called corporate prayers. What happens now? This happened in America. But now they all want some people calling for corporate prayer and fasting so that they get the right politician as a president.

10:57 Brothers and sisters, Jesus Christ, I already dealt this before. Jesus Christ clearly said, my kingdom is not of this world. My kingdom is not of this world.

11:06 This corporate prayer and fasting is in the Old Testament whereby he says, if people will turn from the wicked ways by fasting, I will answer them and then heal their land. First of all, in Jesus Christ, we are a holy nation. We are not an earthly
nation.

11:27 Our nation is not here. We are citizens of heaven. But what do they do, these people, unknowingly or for their own benefit? They begin to get a lot of people to pray for something.

11:38 And what they then don’t do is do not check year by year. When you got a whole lot of Christians to pray or fast, did it work? Did it work? They won’t check that. They won’t put the statistics for that.

11:52 You find that actually many countries, these Christians who are misled call people all their own agenda. You know, they want to look good. They want to look good to the, to the, to the government of the land or to other people.

12:07 We are praying for this country. We are praying. They want to look good.

12:10 So remember some of the leaders calling for corporate prayer also, they themselves may want to look good. We don’t know all this, of course, they may be sincere and actually sincerely wrong. There are people who are sincere but sincerely wrong.

12:23 So they begin to get people all together pray. But then they are not going to check every year. Now you as a believer of Christ, a disciple of Jesus Christ, you better ask yourself, don’t listen to me.

12:35 You ask yourself. Because God has given us a sound mind. Ask yourself and see whether this is true.

12:43 Now remember, our land is a holy nation. We are going to pray for people to be saved, to be got out of their blindness, get out of their misery, send the captives free. We are going to pray for casting out evil spirits, teaching people there are so
many things to do.

13:01 It’s a very busy day actually for me. It’s busy day for disciples. It’s a very busy day daily.

13:07 So many things to do. Now, brothers and sisters, so don’t get caught in all this. The Father God will need what you need before you ask him.

13:15 He knows already in verse eight. So let us now do that. Now the same thing with the fasting.

13:23 Fasting through treasure and wealth. 16 it says, Whenever you’re fasting, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they put on A sad and dismal face. Like actors discolouring their faces with ashes or dirt so that their fasting may be seen by
men.

13:39 I assure you and most solemnly say to you, they already have their reward in full. I am fasting today. I’m fasting today.

13:47 Your fasting keeps quiet. Keep quiet. Command your heart to shut up because you don’t want people to know why you want.

13:53 That’s your intention. But finally people know. Okay, that’s it.

13:57 It’s okay. But your intention should be clear. That’s what God goes by, intention.

14:02 Your intention is you want to fast in secret. If people know, people ask. Then suppose you’re sitting there for some meeting or some lunch.

14:09 Then they went for lunch, brought food. Then you can say, among Christians, today, I’m fasting. But your intention must be clear.

14:16 Your heart is not seeking, oh, I’m fasting. That is intentional. So you have to say you’re fasting because somebody offering you food so you don’t offend them.

14:25 That’s okay. That’s good. Tell them.

14:27 So therefore, everything God wants us to do in secret and we need to tell, we will tell. But that is told in the spirit of humility and not trying to get the reward for trying to get people to look at you and say you are fasting or whatever.
Brothers and sisters, remember.

14:41 Then he said, put oil on your head as you normally would, to groom your hands, wash your face, so that your fasting will not be noticed by people. It doesn’t want us to be noticed. But by your father who is in secret, and your father who sees in
secret will reward you.

14:55 Now this statement, your father who is in secret, your father who is in secret. Can you imagine? And your father who sees in secret will reward you. Who is in secret means he is in the most holy place.

15:08 He is in the fact. You have to see Kim diligently to find him. Because he is in secret.

15:08 He is in a secret place. He is not available to everyone. He is only available to those who want him.

15:22 That’s why the word is, your father who is in secret, and your father who sees in secret will reward you. Brothers and sisters, today, same thing. So why do we fast in the New Testament? It’s not the Old Testament.

15:36 People think you fast and God will do something. It is not like that anymore. We are children of God.

15:41 Jesus Christ is inside you. Jesus Christ inside you. So your father was in secret.

15:47 Now Jesus Christ, also your father, he’s inside us. So now, and we are in Jesus Christ. So we are already inside there.

15:56 So we are not going to look for him in a secret place. He is inside me. So, brothers and sisters, today you fast so that your character will change.

16:05 You will overcome sin, you will overcome temptations. Your heart will change. You’ll become more and more like Christ.

16:11 That’s why you fast to kill the flesh, to kill your body’s desire, to deny yourself, become the cross. That’s why you fast. You fast for that reason.

16:18 You don’t fast to get reward from God. He’s already promised that whatever your needs will be settled. And he sees us through.

16:26 His promises are yes and yes and amen. So do not fast to get something from Jesus Christ. Do you remember? Do you fast to go get something from your earthly father? No.

16:36 You ask him in faith. You ask Him. But what is not amiss? Ask him what is right.

16:42 He will give it to you. What is wrong for you, what can damage you. He won’t give it to you.

16:45 Brother and sisters, today remember, Jesus is in you. You are in Jesus Christ. You are a holy priest.

16:52 Let’s go and be a holy priest. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
