1.1 தீமோத்தேயு 6:9-11( ERV)
9 மேலும் செல்வந்தராக விரும்புகிறவர்கள் சோதனைக்கு உள்ளாகிறார்கள். அவர்கள் கண்ணிகளில் மாட்டிக்கொள்கிறார்கள். முட்டாள்தனமானதும் ஆபத்தானதுமான ஆசைகளை வளர்த்துக்கொள்கிறார்கள். அவை அவர்களைப் பாதித்து, அழிக்கும்.

10 பண ஆசையானது எல்லாவிதமான பாவங்களுக்கும் வழி வகுக்கும். சிலர் மேலும் மேலும் பணத்தை விரும்பி உண்மையான போதனையை விட்டுவிட்டார்கள். அதனால் தம் துன்பத்துக்குத் தாமே காரணமாகிறார்க

11 நீயோ தேவனுடைய மனிதன். எனவே நீ இவற்றில் இருந்து விலகி இருக்கவேண்டும். சரியான வழியில் வாழ முயற்சி செய். தேவனுக்கு சேவை செய். விசுவாசம், அன்பு, பொறுமை, சாந்தம் ஆகியவற்றை வைத்துக்கொள்

10. பண ஆசை எல்லாத் தீமைக்கும் வேராயிருக்கிறது; சிலர் அதை இச்சித்து, விசுவாசத்தைவிட்டு வழுவி, அநேக வேதனைகளாலே தங்களை உருவக் குத்திக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்.

24. இரண்டு எஜமான்களுக்கு ஊழியம் செய்ய ஒருவனாலும் கூடாது; ஒருவனைப் பகைத்து மற்றவனைச் சிநேகிப்பான்; அல்லது ஒருவனைப் பற்றிக்கொண்டு, மற்றவனை அசட்டைபண்ணுவான்; தேவனுக்கும் உலகப் பொருளுக்கும் ஊழியஞ்செய்ய உங்களால் கூடாது.

4 செல்வந்தனாக முயன்று உனது உடல் நலத்தைக் கெடுத்துக்கொள்ளாதே. நீ அறிவுள்ளவனாக இருந்தால் பொறுமையாக இரு. 

5 ஒரு பறவை சிறகு முளைத்துப் பறந்துசென்றுவிடுவதைப்போல செல்வம் மிக வேகமாகக் கரைந்துவிடும்.

“உங்கள் வாழ்க்கையை பண ஆசையிலிருந்து விடுவித்து, உங்களிடம் உள்ளதை வைத்து திருப்தியாக இருங்கள்.”
