13 As a father has compassion for his children,
so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him
13 Just as a father loves his children,
So the Lord loves those who fear and worship Him [with awe-filled respect and deepest reverence].
23 One of His disciples, whom Jesus loved (esteemed), was leaning against Jesus’ chest.
12 Therefore Jesus also suffered and died outside the [city] gate so that He might sanctify and
set apart for God as holy the people [who believe] through [the shedding of] His own blood.
13 So, let us go out to Him outside the [a]camp, bearing His contempt [the disgrace and shame that He had to suffer].
14 For here we have no lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come.
15 Through Him, therefore, let us at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise,
which is the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify His name.
Mark 16:17 New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (NRSVCE)
17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: by using my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
But he gives all the more grace; therefore it says,
5 Examine and test and evaluat
and showing the proper fruits of it. Test and prove yourselves
Do you not yourselves realize and know [thoroughly by an ever-increasing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you—unless you are [counterfeits] disapproved on trial and rejected?
3 For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
2 Those who think they know something do not yet know anything as they should.
26 He said to him, “What is written in the law? What do you read there?”
27 He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul,
and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
28 And he said to him, “You have given the right answer; do this, and you will live.”
