00:01 Praise Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Brothers and sisters, today the power of Christ Daily 9 December 2015 titled Not All Things are beneficial. Not all things are beneficial. Not all things will benefit Brothers and sisters today.

00:17 As I now from time to time remind ourselves, today started from last night, how we went to sleep. Did we talk to the Lord Jesus Christ? Did we examine ourselves, our conduct for the day, against the Word of God, that is, against Jesus Christ
himself? Did we lean on the word of God that ends up in the Spirit, leaning on Jesus Christ himself because he is the Word of God? Did we do things right for people? Did we account for our time, account for our money? Or did we do anything rubbish
and we just forgot about it? We were putting ourselves first. Did we take time to put others first? Did we take time to know love your neighbour as yourself? Did we take time to know that? Did we ever do anything that is grieving the Holy Spirit and
displeasing Jesus Christ? Grieving Jesus Christ.

01:10 Brothers and sisters, this examination, examine yourself, is critical. Critical, brothers and sisters. Therefore, even a couple of days back, I had to in fact, rebuke a pastor.

01:22 Because rebuke is sometimes, oh, we are whacking them and this and that. No, it’s not that. The word of God, is it.

01:27 The word of God is for rebuke, for rebuking, for correction, for edification. Only when you correct. Some people say edification means that you feel good when the pastor talks to you, when the counselor talks to you, you must feel good.

01:45 No, brothers and sisters, when the word of God comes, it will convict you. It will say what wrongs you have done. Your flight won’t take it, your heart and mind won’t take it.

01:58 Because the Word of God corrects you and separates bone from marrow and rebukes you and all that. But when you let go of the sin, let go of the wrong, then what happens? Then the joy will come. But when the rebuke is coming, you know, some people,
some people say, no, no, no, this is not of God.

02:16 I feel uneasy, I feel unhappy. Yeah, the word of God is convicting you. You better feel happy.

02:22 Because it’s like the medicine when you take, it’s a bitter pill of bitter powder you have to take, or bitter drink you have to take. Like bitter gourd. Drink is good for a lot of things, including sugar, balance and all that.

02:36 But it’s bitter gourd. People really don’t like to eat bitter gourd these days. And so people grow bitter gourds that are not so bitter.

02:43 Brothers and sisters, today, brothers and sisters, we must remember, examine ourselves critical. And if we don’t examine ourselves. So I ask the pastor, did you examine yourself, brother? Did you before getting up into these problems, did you
examine yourself? He is not so how? Brothers and sisters, God’s command is what Examine.

03:04 Therefore I put a permanent scripture. Examine yourself. Permanent Scripture.

03:09 2nd Corinthians 13:5. I use it to amplify to see whether your counterfeit Christians. Examine yourself 13:5 in the email.

03:17 You have some permanent scriptures coming out there. 2nd Corinthians 13:5. In Amplified, examine and test and evaluate your own selves.

03:25 Then in later part of the verse it says, unless you are counterfeit, test yourself whether you are fake Christians. Brothers and sisters, if you don’t examine yourself step by step, everything will look good and peaky. But you’ll have to have peace.

03:39 You will not have peace. Peace comes when we surrender everything to God, including asking Jesus Christ for forgiveness and also asking the people we do wrong to forgiveness. Brothers and sisters, today we start by examining life.

03:54 Please start for your own sake. Thank Jesus Christ. Now this scripture here, this is like all things are not beneficial.

04:03 This is from First Corinthians 6:12. Everything I’m reading from the Amplified has Everything is permissible for me, but not all things are beneficial. Everything is permissible for me, but I will not be enslaved by anything.

04:25 Enslaved by anything. It goes on to explain, brought under its power, allowing it to control me. Everything is permissible.

04:33 Some other translations say everything is lawful for me, but not everything is beneficial or not all things are beneficial, or not all things are profitable. Sometimes they say profitable means of use of any gain for me. Everything is lawful for me,
but I will not come under his power.

04:50 I will not be enslaved. Now when you read this scripture. That is why when reading scripture, it must be read in the totality.

05:00 The whole counsel of God, the whole council of God starts with God love for us. Jesus Christ loves us. So whatever command he’s putting for us, however ridiculous may sound to the unbelieving mind or unspiritual mind or soul, it’s actually for us.

05:19 That’s why God says it’s authoritative prescription. It is a prescription for us. So when we see a command like that and our heart doesn’t like it, first of all, the Father made that covenant for myself, commandeth my own heart and mind.

05:32 If Jesus says the world is black, it is black. It’s black, black, black. Not the purkovan eye is selling me and this and that.

05:39 Now let’s See this? But so if you take this, everything is lawful. Everything is lawful for me, everything is permissible. That is why I do this.

05:46 Now that makes the fallen nature, heart and mind and flesh, wants to do wrong things. Already looking for a scripture that can let you do whatever you want to do. Now if we do whatever we want to do, which I did whatever I wanted to do before I knew
the Lord, it harmed me.

06:07 So yes, we can do whatever we want to do, nobody is going to stop us here. Even if the law of the land permits, doesn’t mean that you do that because it doesn’t mean it’s going to be beneficial for you or your family. It doesn’t mean it’s going to
be profitable for you and your family.

06:14 Even if the law of the land permits, brothers and sisters, just because it is lawful, lawful, first of all, the human law is allowed means, doesn’t mean it’s going to be profitable for you. But let’s say the Bible law, the God law also permits you,
doesn’t mean it’s going to be profitable for you. Because not everything is sin, but everything is not beneficial.

06:48 That’s another translation will say, not everything is sin, but not everything is beneficial. But if we keep on doing now, so where does this issue come? It comes 1st Corinthians 6:12. Let’s go and read what 1st Corinthians 6, 9, 10 says 1
Corinthians 6:9 and says, Therefore you must see the whole counsel of God always don’t read one, go and read before and after that particular scripture too and look at other translations.

07:13 Do you not know? First Corinthians 6, 9, 10 King James Version New King James Version do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? He’s talking to the Corinthian church. It’s a church of believers, you know. And all kind
of funny things were going on in that church.

07:13 Do you not know? Not only just funny brothers, it was all kinds of sinful things also going on in the church. Although it’s a church of believers group. Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? It’s a question Paul
is asking, do not be deceived.

07:49 This is a command saying, hey, look here, don’t be deceived. Don’t think for yourself by yourself, measure by yourself. There’s a scripture they examine themselves, measure themselves by themselves, for themselves and come to some conclusion which
is only destruction.

08:02 Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor couches, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor no extortioner will inherit the kingdom of God. He has put a list there now.

08:23 1 Corinthians, 6, 9, 10. Now all this group will not inherit the kingdom of God, even though this group can call themselves Christians or Christians just because I keep telling people just I can call myself American people won’t know. I used to have
a permanent, what you call 10 year multiple entry there.

09:13 So people who are in this mess right now, don’t get upset, get angry with the devil. Get angry with your heart and mind for being unconverted and love Jesus Christ and say, lord, I want to please you and you can come out of this in the name of Jesus
Christ. If you have some kind of addiction, then you need deliverance.

09:32 But deliverance can only work if you confess and want to turn. Your repent is what turns away of thinking. It starts in the head.

09:40 Repentance starts in the head. Rot also starts in the head. Fish rots in the head.

09:46 I have a segment before, just like fish rotting the head. I had rotted in my head before. Why I was using human and humanistic logic.

09:55 It starts in the head. So now repentance also will start in the head. You start thinking differently.

10:00 You start digging a line of in the line and the words of Jesus Christ, why? For our own sake. Nothing happens to Jesus Christ if we do not. Yeah, he’s grieved.

10:11 He may even weep. He wept. When people are in anguish and sorrow and all that, he wept.

10:17 The Bible says that outside Lazarus grave, the word just one phrase. No, two words. He wept because he was overtaken with compassion.

10:28 But nothing really happened to him other than that it happens to us. So, brothers and sisters, now he says in 1 Corinthians 6, 11, earlier, 9, 10, we read, and such were some of you before you believed. And such were some of you.

10:43 What all that the Bible is talking to me. The word of God talking to me. I was like that.

10:50 Such were some of you before you believed. But you were washed by the atoning sacrifice of Christ. You were sanctified.

10:57 What a sweet sounding word. Sanctified. You were separated.

11:03 I was separated. Oh, fantastic. Lord Jesus Christ.

11:07 Thank you, Lord. I was separated. I was sanctified.

11:10 And because I’m sanctified, I’m now called a saint. Sanctified, set apart for God and made holy. That’s the word.

11:17 Sanctified means I’ve been set apart for God and made holy. I was justified, declared free of guilt in the name of Lord Jesus Christ and in the Holy Spirit of our God, the source of the believer’s new life and changed behavior. I was sanctified.

11:34 But if I continue doing this, if I continue lying, I continue drunkard. I continue this without concerning myself with these issues, then I’m living a lie. God was clear.

11:47 If you continue committing sin, I continue committing adultery, I continue being drunkard, I continue to become violent. I continue to become all that, reviler and all that or whatever, then I’m born of the devil. There’s another scripture in John.

12:02 So instead of getting upset with God’s word, know that all this was damaging me. So when God’s word says as such were some of you, that’s me, Lord, I was like that. It’s only youy.

12:12 I thank youk for your sacrifice. You suffered like that to sanctify me, to separate me. Set apart for God and made holy.

12:20 Been set apart and you’re changing me from glory to glory. I thank you, Lord Jesus. Now let’s look at some of the things that are not beneficial.

12:29 For instance, those days, so many investments I’m involved with. So one investment I was thinking is okay if we can gather all the expensive liquor bottles, you know, brandies and whiskies and all. And over 10, 20, 30 years time, soda beans or
Christies, they can auction there.

12:46 You know the foolishness, foolishness. So buy some of these expensive bottles of liquor. They didn’t last because I drank it.

12:56 I was a drunkard. So this so called oh, big plan, big time plant, it doesn’t last, not beneficial. So gathering liquor bottle and all that.

13:06 Of course for a Christian it’s a temptation. Don’t do that. Now for instance, whatever we do, it may not be beneficial, it may not be unlawful in the land and even God may allow it.

13:18 But it catching you. For instance, those days, many people I didn’t have that boys night out. So the husband wants to go to a boy’s night out.

13:28 So it’s a boy’s night out. They need an escapism. Boy’s night out, boys.

13:35 Your covenant, the second highest covenant after the covenant of blood covenant of salvation for you is the marriage covenant. God says second highest for a married man and a woman is the second highest covenant is the marriage covenant. The highest
is the blood covenant of salvation by Christ.

13:53 What? Boys night out is a courthouse. That’s why he said I will not be enslaved by anything. Oh, I cannot.

14:00 Today is a boy’s night out. I must do this. No, no.

14:01 I must do this. You know, I must have my kitchen. Spit can span anybody come.

14:08 Don’t come inside. You come inside, you disturb. So they clean up the kitchen and nobody should go in.

14:15 I’ve seen women like this so much so when before I was born again, I would give them a mouthful. They crazy. What’s the kitchen for people to go and use it, isn’t it? No pick and span.

14:26 So something has enslaved them. Some kind of a belief, you know? Yeah. Keeping the kitchen spick and Spanish.

14:33 Of course not law unlawful. It’s not. Is not unlawful.

14:37 It’s even permissible. But if that enslaved you and that I’ll go to football game. Not me.

14:43 I wiped up even when I was not born again. People paint their face left and right. Hey, I say, what crazy nonsense.

14:50 Why are you painting your face? Oh, this is my group, the red devils. Hey, you are painting red devils on yourself. Crazy.

14:59 Now look here. But the law also may allow. Yeah, the law allows you to call this law.

15:04 Red local law, the human law. Red devil. You can put.

15:09 You can put devil Halloween. You go and check and see. Everybody will tell you that Halloween is an auspicious day of Satan.

15:27 God doesn’t say sin. You put something in costume. But if the costume party will cost you so much of money, so much of money, it’s not beneficial.

15:37 In fact, you have been fooled into buying this, brothers and sisters. Why do this? So when you examine everything we do against this word, now remember, when everything is permissible for me, it’s not talking about all the sin business. The sin
business is not permissible for us.

15:52 So don’t read that First Corinthians 6, 12 out of context. It is in context when you read from first Corinthians 6, 9, 11. And then you see 12, there are things that are permissible.

16:07 Now there’s another other commentaries who say the word should not be not all things are beneficial. The word should be not all things are expedient. Expedient means a lot of people take shortcuts, convenient things we do.

16:20 Although that actually eventually is damaged, it’ll damage. It may be beneficial to you in terms of short term money and all that by damaging others. That is sin against Christ and you still harm yourself because you’re not loving your neighbor as
yourself.

16:34 Not all things are experienced. Don’t find shortcuts then it hurts others. It may be good for you.

16:39 Brothers and sisters, today we are Christians. Examine ourselves. We are not fake Christians.

16:44 We are true Christians submitting to the law of Jesus Christ. To the love of Jesus Christ. He put these rules because he loves us.

16:52 That is why he put he loves us. In Jesus name I pray. Remember that he loves you.
