Scripture:
2 Corinthians 13:5 NKJV
“Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves.”
Understanding:
God wants me to examine myself and make sure that I am walking in faith. As I examine my thoughts, actions, and decisions according to the Word of God, I grow in understanding and become more firmly persuaded of His promises. When I trust Jesus Christ and obey His Word, I can be confident that all things will work together for good because I love God and desire to follow Him.
Application:
I will examine myself regularly to see whether I am walking in faith and trusting Jesus Christ. I will compare my thoughts, words, and actions with the Word of God and make corrections where needed. I will choose to believe God’s promises and be fully persuaded that He is working all things together for good in my life.
Prayer:
In the name of Jesus Christ, Lord Jesus, make me walk in faith and trust Your promises, and make me examine myself according to Your Word and follow You faithfully each day; in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
