Scripture:
John 1:12 NKJV
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.”
Understanding:
God is complete, perfect, and lacking nothing. In His love and goodness, He created me and gave me the opportunity to become His child through Jesus Christ. God’s desire is not that I remain separated from Him, but that I receive Jesus Christ, know Him, and be part of His family. Through faith in Jesus Christ, I have the privilege of becoming a child of God and sharing in His promises.
Apply:
I will remember that my purpose is found in Jesus Christ. I will not see myself as without purpose or value, but as someone whom God loves and has called to be His child. Therefore, I will seek to know Jesus Christ more, trust His Word, and walk in obedience to Him each day.
Prayer:
In the name of Jesus Christ, Lord Jesus, thank You for Your love, mercy, and grace, and for giving me the right to become a child of God through faith in You; help me to understand Your purpose for creating me and to grow in the knowledge of You, teach me to walk in Your ways, remain faithful to Your Word, and live as Your child, and let my life bring glory to Your name and reflect Your love to those around me; in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
